Bathroom renovation in Petersfield

The job

A homeowner in Petersfield asked us to take on a full bathroom refurbishment. The existing suite and wall tiles had come to the end of their life, and the customer wanted the room properly renovated rather than patched up, so the brief was a complete bathroom renovation. That meant taking the room back to a clean, sound starting point and rebuilding it as one finished space, with the sanitaryware, the tiling and the fit-out all handled by the same team.

What we did

We began by removing the existing sanitaryware and stripping out the old wall tiles, then prepared the space ready for the new fit-out. Preparation is the part of a bathroom renovation nobody ever sees, and it is the part that matters most: flat, sound surfaces are what keep large-format tiles sitting true and the new sanitaryware sitting level. With the room ready, we installed the new sanitaryware and tiled throughout in a large-format marble-effect tile, taken floor to ceiling around the bath. The bath has a shower over it with a folding glass screen, and the room also takes a close-coupled WC, a basin and vanity unit, a ladder-style heated towel rail and recessed ceiling lighting. We gave the customer our usual advice on the sanitaryware and the tiling so the finish suited the room.

The result

The bathroom renovation was completed in four days, from the first tile coming off the wall to the finished room, and the customer was extremely happy with the result. The finished space is clean and modern, with the tiling, the new suite and the shower screen all reading as one job rather than a set of separate ones. It is the kind of work we take on regularly for homeowners around Petersfield, handling the sanitaryware, the tiling and the fit-out ourselves so there is one team on site from start to finish.
